Kuthiramalika Museum
Kuthiramalika
Palace Muse um, a classic
specimen of Kerala Architecture
is situated in 'Kuthiramalika'.
The
palace, with its excellent
carvings and amazing
architectural designs,
is by itself a slice
of heritage. The museum
has a wide range of
exhibits representing
the erstwhile state
of Travancore.
The
Kuthiramalika Palace
was built by His Highness
the Maharaja Swathi
Thirunal Balarama Varma
of Travancore. The Palace
museum adorned with
paintings and amusing
collections of the erstwhile
royal family. It is
an example of Travancore
style of architecture.

Krishnan Menon Museum
The
Krishna Menon Museum
houses a good collection
of Paintings by Raja
Raja Varma and Raja
Ravi Varma. A section
is devoted to the Memorabilia
of the late V.K. Krishna
Menon, former Indian
Defence Minister and
national leader.
The
section in honour of
the great Indian leader
V.K Krishna Menon has
on display the collection
of personal belongings
and souvenirs gifted
by this world leader.

Priyadarshini
Planetorium is one of
the most sophisticated
and versatile planetaria
in India.
This
fabulous planetarium
complex has a centrally
air conditioned Sky
theatre of planetarium,
Conference hall, Workshops,
Sound - studio etc.
with a seating capacity
of 184, Priyadarsini
Planetarium is rated
as one of the best horizontal
domed planetaria of
global standards.

Museum

is situated at Durbar
Hall Road, Ernakulam.
This museum has some
typical Kerala art.
It holds artifacts from
the royal family including
oil paintings, old coins,
sculptures etc belonging
to the 19th century.
The adjoining gallery
holds contemporary works
by local Indian artists.

The
Natural History Museum
is housed in a modern
spacious 2 stored building
at an elevated ground
at the eastern end of
the Museum and Zoo complex,
Thiruvananthapuram.
The varied and rich
collections in Natural
History which started
with the personnel collection
of minerals and books
presented by General
Cullen in 1885 has found
satisfactory housing
in this new building
in 1964.
The
Museum has separate
galleries for Mammals,
Birds, Lower Vertebrates,
Invertebrates, separate
room for Index collections,
Skeleton gallery, Ethnology
gallery Library, Laboratory
and office accommodations.
There is also an outdoor
exhibit of Fossil tree
trunks near the entrance
of the Museum.
